Play Netball Terms and Conditions of Business
Play Netball provides its service to you, subject to the following Terms & Conditions (“T&C”). When a team, player or group joins a Play Netball, either by phone, internet, email, they are forming a contract subject to these terms and conditions with Play Netball and are committing to the duration of at least 1 season (10-14 weeks)
A team shall always be automatically registered into the next/new season unless 2 weeks’ notice of your desire to exit the league has been given by the team captain. If a team does not continue without 2 weeks’ notice to Play Netball (in writing, by post, the website or email) they shall forfeit any deposit taken and be liable to pay the standard match fee for each of the remaining games. Exit of a league can only take place at the end of the season. The Length of the League varies from league to league depending on number of team participating.
The team captain is responsible for all participants playing in the team and all payments/arrears. By entering a team, the captain agrees to this responsibility.
Play Netball reserves the right to refuse entry or exclude any participant, team or organisation from its competition without giving a reason.
it is the Captain’s responsibility to ensure that all players abide by the rules and registered with Play Netball. There is no limit on the amount of players you register. Any players that wish to join a team once the season has started needs to be registered also.
Participants must be 18 years of age or older. This is due to our and the venue’s insurance, each venue agreement states that no one under the age of 18 can play during our sessions.
No item of jewellery, except a wedding ring and/or medical alert bracelet, shall be worn. If worn they must be taped. No adornment that may endanger player safety shall be worn. Players must wear suitable clothes and training shoes. Shoe laces must be securely tied before a game. Time allowances will not be given at any point for someone to tie their shoe laces.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Participants/Spectators agree to take full responsibility for any injuries that may occur. Play Netball do not accept liability for any injuries and/or death and all participants play with full knowledge and acceptance of the risks involved. All players play at their own risk and are responsible to take out their personal injury insurance. No responsibility can be taken for any loss or damage to personal property. Participants agree and acknowledge, Play Netball does not own or have exclusive occupation of premises used; has little or no control in respect of persons entering the premises (including surroundings and other netball courts) and no control as to how the premises are used and left before/after competitions. Team Captains are fully responsible for making sure the conditions are safe for their team, if the Captain feels the environment is not safe to play in which could include misconduct, dangers, violence, or similar, then the must advise Play Netball immediately. All players should ensure their nails are short and smooth before taking to court. This is at the discretion of the umpire. Nails that are deemed too long may result in you not being able to play. Games are not suitable for players who are over 12 weeks pregnant. This is for your own safety and others around you.
FEES / ABSENCES / MATCH TIMES
In some circumstances Play Netball may need to and will change match times. We ask all teams to regularly check the website for any changes. The match fees are determined by Netball Leagues and can be subject to change.
Teams can also pay an upfront cost for the season, giving a 10% discount. Payment for this must be paid in full before your first game of the season. Instalments of this cost is not available. If an money is owed after your first game, you will not be eligible for the 10% discount and the full amount for the season will need to be paid.
Any outstanding match fees owed will be passed on to an external debt collection agency. These teams owing money will also be liable for the costs of recovering the debt.
If a team is not able to attend a fixture, a 10-0 win is awarded. The forfeiting team will be charged a forfeit fee. Forfeit fee is £20 – this is subject to change and is expected to be paid before your next game. 1
Season Pass! Our 1 season pass gives new individual teams 10 weeks that if they forfeit they wont be charged (to enable each team has enough) If a team forfeits twice in one season their place in our league will be under review (Players can be passed over to boost numbers, if players are refused your team is likely to lose its place in the league)
If a team fails to show up with no notice Play Netball will remove them from the league and the team will still be liable for the remaining costs of the season. In special circumstances and if we are told 2 days in advance of a forfeit then the fee may be wavered. When a team forfeits, their opposition will be offered a friendly game instead (they will still win 10-0 regardless of friendly result) This is charged at £20. Should you pay upfront for a season and then forfeit – you lose the match fee for that game.
Website pictures may not always be the actual pitches you will be playing on, they are for display only. By registering to play in Play Netball, the captain agrees to abide to the rules of the league and will ensure the team are aware of the rules and that they also abide by them. Play Netball take photos of league winners and teams for display on our marketing martial and online. Play Netball owns the rights to these pictures and will use them for promotion. Teams or players must specify when they join the league if they do not what their pictures displayed. This contract shall be governed by English Law and shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the English Courts.
Please note that Play Netball does not provide any insurance cover for teams to cover for personal injury. Play Netball cannot be held responsible for personal injuries and strongly recommend that teams take out their own insurance policies to cover such eventualities. Play Netball will not be held responsible/liable for any loss or damage for performance of Netball Leagues obligations, or anything outside of Netball Leagues control. Without prejudice to the generality of our terms and conditions; Netball Leagues will not be liable for negligence or negligent of anyone carrying out work for our company, has no liability for any losses, personal injury or death. This contract shall be governed by English Law and shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the English Courts.
All attendees at any Play Netball league or event are expected to behave in a civil and courteous manner to all those present. This includes players, umpires and spectators. All players are expected to abide by the latest INF Rulebook. Any unsportsmanlike behaviour on or off court will not be tolerated. This includes verbal or physical abuse. Depending upon the nature of the misbehaviour further action may be taken by Play Netball in the form of official warnings, suspension or expulsion of players or teams.
If you have attended a Play Netball event and feel another attendee has not behaved in accordance with this please contact us either by phone or email, stating which league/event you attended and provide as much information as possible.
All umpires’ decisions are final. Intimidation of referees will not be tolerated and will result in further action being taken by the league, up to and including expulsion of offending players and teams from the league. Play Netball reserve the right to ban or expel any player or team from the league or take any other disciplinary action as it deems appropriate. Any team knowingly fielding a suspended player will forfeit that game 10-0 and will be liable for the oppositions match fee.
