We have over 100 dedicated and experienced Match Night Coordinators across our leagues, with many hundreds of umpires ready to officiate each week!
Our coordinators and umpires play a key role in creating the welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere that defines Play Netball. With strong experience in both umpiring and playing, they support and guide players of all abilities, including those returning to the sport. They’re on hand to capture team photos and match night moments for our socials, while also getting involved in competitions to add to the fun. Above all, they help ensure every league night is friendly, inclusive, and true to the Play Netball experience.
League Coordinators
Each larger league has a designated coordinator responsible for ensuring match nights run smoothly and efficiently.
- They organise and manage umpires, ensuring there are always two umpires per court for every match each week.
- Bring and manage all equipment, including match balls and first aid kits.
- Coordinators are the main point of contact for teams and umpires on the night.
- Coordinators oversee the umpire scorecards for each fixture, and upload results to Magic League (our online team portal!)
- Coordinators will step in and Umpire whenever needed.
League Umpires
An umpire will act as a League Coordinator if the league is small.
- Umpires will confidently officiate matches, ensuring games are played fairly and safely, and making clear, consistent decisions, communicating them well to players.
- Handle any play-disputes or questions calmly and professionally
- Work closely with the coordinator to ensure the night runs smoothly.

REVIEWS
I love Play Netball, I had been looking for a friendly social league for a long time and this was it. It’s a great way to get out of the house, keep fit and make friends. I had not played netball since leaving school (18 years to be exact)! But it didn’t take long for me to remember. This is my ‘me time’, as most mums will know ‘me time’ is hard to come by, but for me this is time well spent.
